HiFlo HF-156

Manufacturer
Evaluation date
October 2001

This filter was removed after about 1100 miles on my KTM Duke II. It was installed as a replacement for the KTM part by the dealer at the first service. The cost savings was passed on to me. This filter is nearly identical to the Honda filter (reviewed elsewhere on this site) that is an exact match, but not cross-referenced.

The filter element in this spin-on is very similar to the Vesrah, displaying closely-spaced pleats. The sealing gasket is a semi O-ring design. A good looking filter.

Update: Chris of Bike Alert writes me that this filter and the Honda application are manufactured differently because the Duke's two-stage filtration system operates at a different pressure and particle filtration specification. The filters are NOT substitutes for one another, even though they will thread on.
