This filter was one of two filters generously donated to the cause by Josh Fielek. Thanks!

Externally, this filter carries a semi-O ring gasket, and has a good heft and feel. Internally, we find a few unusual (at least to this set of filters) construction features. First, the anti-drainback valve at the front of the element is a spring loaded thin disk of rubber. Rather than rely on the elasticity of the rubber to form the seal, this filter uses the spring to get a positive seal. In addition, the bypass valve face (under the filter element in the photo) is rubber-covered, possibly offering a better seal there than the standard metal-metal seal. A very-well designed filter with attention to details.
